Rooklet

Rooklet privacy policy

Effective date: 12 September 2026

Rooklet is a planning app made by Lauren Leppert. This policy explains how the Rooklet app handles information and how to contact me at lauren@velocicoder.dev.

Your plans stay in the app

Rooklet stores your tasks, notes, planned dates, due dates, categories, Home/Work or School assignments, repeating tasks, habits, daily check-ins, reviews and preferences on your device. Optional meal descriptions, calorie estimates, movement notes and step goals are also stored locally.

Rooklet does not require an account, operate a cloud service for your plans, or upload this information to me. The app does not include advertising, tracking or analytics services. I do not sell your app data or use it for advertising.

Optional Apple Health and Health Connect access

You can choose to connect steps in the optional Movement module. On supported devices, Rooklet requests read access to step counts from Apple Health or Health Connect. It uses daily step totals to display your movement alongside an optional plan and goal. It does not request permission to write health information, and it does not write or change information in Apple Health or Health Connect.

When connected, Rooklet reads steps for the date you are viewing when Movement is shown, you refresh, or you return to the app with Movement visible. Imported totals are held temporarily in memory; Rooklet does not save them in its task database, upload them, share them with advertisers, or read steps in the background. Manually entered meal and movement information is separate from imported steps.

Connecting steps is optional. Tasks, habits, meal plans, movement notes and goals work without health access. Disconnect steps or turn off Movement to stop further reads and clear temporary step readings. This does not delete your saved notes or goals or revoke the operating system's permission.

To revoke permission on iPhone, open Health, tap your profile, open Apps and Services (called Apps on some versions), choose Rooklet and turn off Steps. On Android, open Health Connect, then App permissions, choose Rooklet and remove step access. The exact labels may vary by operating-system version.

Retention and deletion

Your saved information stays in local app storage until you change or remove it. Turning off an optional module hides it and keeps its saved records. Completing, replanning or deleting a task can leave dated history or review records. Deleted tasks and categories remain recoverable for at least 30 days; removing them from an active list does not immediately erase all related records.

Rooklet has no remote copy of your plans that I can retrieve or delete. To remove all Rooklet app data from a device, use your operating system's app-data removal or app-deletion controls. Doing so can permanently remove your plans and history. Offloading an app may keep its data. Device backups can retain an earlier copy; manage those separately through your backup provider.

Device backups and diagnostics

Your operating system may back up app data or transfer it to another device according to your settings and its own policies. Apple, Google and their testing services may process installation information, crash reports or diagnostics under their own settings and policies. Rooklet does not operate its own analytics or crash-reporting service. It does not provide its own sync, backup or restore service, and a reinstall is not a guarantee that your data will return.

Support and external links

If you email lauren@velocicoder.dev or send feedback through TestFlight or Google Play, the information you choose to send may include your contact details, message, screenshots and platform diagnostics. That information is used to respond to you and investigate the issue. Please avoid including private tasks or health information unless you want to share them. You can request deletion of support correspondence by emailing the same address.

Opening the privacy or support website uses your browser. The website host and your email or testing-service provider may process ordinary request or message information under their own policies. Rooklet does not attach your tasks, habits or health readings to these links.

Changes and questions

This policy may be updated when Rooklet's behavior changes. The effective date above identifies the current policy. For privacy questions or requests about information you have sent to me, contact lauren@velocicoder.dev.
